June 5, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Michael Stender (R-Montour/Northumberland) announced today that two private schools located in Northumberland County received school safety and security grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee.
Schools receiving funding are as follows:
-Meadowbrook Christian School in Milton has been awarded $24,995.
-Northumberland Christian School in Northumberland has been awarded $44,500.
“These school safety and security grants help private schools address school safety and the mental health of their students,” said Stender. “Both Meadowbrook Christian and Northumberland Christian will benefit from this funding and use it to better protect and assist their students.”
This funding is part of nearly $20 million awarded across the Commonwealth to help address school violence and improve student mental health, as well as bolster school security, including costs associated with training and compensation of school security personnel.
