Stender Announces More Than $332,000 in Grants for Local Fire, EMS Companies
February 18, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Michael Stender (R-Montour/Northumberland) today announced that more than $332,000 in grant funding has been awarded to fire companies and emergency medical service providers across the 108th District through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program.
“As a first responder, I know firsthand what it takes to answer a call for help. It is critical to have reliable equipment, proper training and safe facilities. This funding helps make sure our local fire and EMS companies have what they need to serve the community.”
The Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program was created by the General Assembly to provide ongoing support for Pennsylvania’s emergency response organizations. The program is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
Eligible uses for the grants include construction or renovation of fire or ambulance facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, training, recruitment and retention efforts, public education and debt reduction. All funding for the program comes from slot machine gaming revenue, not General Fund tax dollars.
